Hi all ! Nicholas continues to do well. We took our first trip with him over the Labor Day Weekend. It was just to Austin...Daddy had to attend the UT football game! We stayed at the Austin Hyatt and had a great time. Nicholas and I were able to people watch from our great view. We had a room that opened out to the Congress Street Bridge, so we were able to see lots of people out watching the Austin Bats. Nicholas did very well. We also popped in to visit with his Grandmother Culp and Great Grandmother. We hope to have the pictures on the website this afternoon. Otherwise, because Nicholas is doing so well and the insurance company was very ready, we were able to release the nurses. We will miss them greatly due to their fine work and friendship, but Alex and I are ready to assume a "true" life with our son. Alex continues to travel to Austin each week, so I am left to do most of the care of Nicholas. I am adjusting to my up and downs of night-time sleeping with Nicholas. Grandpa and Uncle moved the baby bed into our room. I still find myself getting up every hour or so...I hope to adjust to a more regular schedule. Nicholas continues to eat each day, but it has been a real challenge for him. We will increase his oral feedings to twice a day next week. He still receives tube feedings, but we would like to wean him off the gtube within the next year or so. Keep posting. We love to hear from anyone these days. The Culps |
