Nicholas continues to do well at home. He appears to be getting over his little sickies from last week. (crosses fingers) He has been in such a good mood! We continue to have reduced nursing each day. I am still working my 8 hours without each day, and on Fridays, we have a 24 hour shift. I have asked the nursing agency to help staff at least each Friday night with a nurse. It is exceedingly difficult to stay up for the 24 hours plus the awake time during the day on Friday. Last week, I didn't sleep for 36 hours...I made it, but I was exhausted by the time we had finished the weekend. Nicholas is still working with his PT and SP during the week. He is improving on his muscle strength, and we are working on turning over. His balance with his head is also improving. We still need much work, but he is such a trooper. Alex continues to travel each week and returns on Thursday nights. He misses his time with both Nicky and myself, but I put him to work over the past weekend. I think that he learned a few lessons in taking care of a kiddo with no help. He did a great job! Please continue to pray for Nicholas and his lungs. We pray that he continues to grow and get off this silly vent. I promise, that he would be running down the stairs by now if he wasn't attached to the tubes. (jk) Honestly, though, he is such a little mover. He works himself sideways in the bed, and before you know it, he is at the foot of the bed laughing and playing. Keep those posts coming, Alex, Terah, and Nicholas |
