Another week gone by...almost three weeks that we have been home. Nicholas continues to play, cry, squirm, kick, etc...sounds like a normal baby to me. He demands quite a bit of attention, but his mommy loves to spoil him. The nurses told me that we shouldn't give into his every need, but Alex and I feel as though Nicholas deserves the attention and love. We know that we should not pick him up with every upset moment, but you have to think that Nicholas was so deprived of "touchable" attention in his early months that he deserves to be treated like a baby. The nurses commented that Alex and I always treat him like a normal baby. We tell them that Nicholas is a normal baby...he just comes with a standard upgrade of ammenties. We upgraded to a special lung system, complete with self suffient oxygen and blowers...we upgraded to a reliant stomach tube, complete with self guiding gravity flow of milk to the stomach. No, just a little humor. All and all, Alex and I give Nicholas every opportunity that he deserves. Alex loves to bounce him on his knee and swings him in the air like an airplane. When he is not sleeping, he sits in his bouncy seat and swing. Otherwise, Nicholas is doing really well. Thanks for the continued prayers and support. We love you all! Please continue to pray for strength and healing in Nicholas's life. We pray that God will make us great parents. Much love, Alex, Terah, and Nicholas |
